Description:
Impressionist artist Claude Monet gave water-lilies the lasting fame they
continue to enjoy. Monet painted a series of works late in his life
(1915-1925) of the gardens and water-lily ponds at his home in Giverny,
France.
The colorful lilies in gorgeous pinks, reds, blues, and violets can be
found floating on the surface of freshwater lakes and ponds. They are a
distinctive family of plants (Nyphaceae) that grow throughout the world in
the tropics and subtropics as well as the northern temperate zones. No
members of this family grow on land.
My dear friend, Elyn Worrall asked me to design a water-lily quilt for her
beautiful daughter Jany.
This is for you Jany.
